1. Introduction to Asphalt Anti stripping Agent
Asphalt anti stripping agent is an organic polymer compound mainly used to improve the adhesion between asphalt and aggregates (such as acidic aggregates), thereby enhancing the durability and water damage resistance of asphalt pavement. Asphalt anti stripping agent forms a strong and powerful chemical bond with the surface of aggregate through physical adsorption or chemical bonding, significantly improving the adhesion between asphalt and aggregate and extending the service life of the road surface. Asphalt anti stripping agent has good resistance to thermal aging and water damage.
2. Composition and mechanism of asphalt anti stripping agent
The main components of asphalt anti stripping agent include monolauric phosphate ester, coupling agent, triethanolamine, epoxy resin, acrylamide, calcium hydroxide, polyvinyl alcohol fiber, and Portland cement. The functions of these components are as follows:
(1) Monolauric phosphate ester and coupling agent: tightly bond aggregate and asphalt to improve adhesion.
(2) Triethanolamine: As a solvent and stabilizer, it helps other ingredients to function better.
(3) Epoxy resin: forms an insoluble three-dimensional network after curing, filling gaps and enhancing bonding strength.
(4) Acrylamide: Contains nitrogen-containing functional groups, adsorbs acidic stones, and improves adhesion.
(5) Calcium hydroxide: improves the environment of asphalt mixtures and promotes the bonding between asphalt and acidic aggregates.
(6) Polyvinyl alcohol fiber: prevents salt erosion of asphalt and enhances its durability.
(7) Portland cement: Provides chemical structural properties and enhances the adhesion between asphalt and aggregate surfaces.
3. Usage and Effect
(1) Directly added to hot asphalt: added in proportion to hot melt asphalt (modified asphalt), generally using 0.2% to 0.4% of the proportion of hot asphalt, that is, adding 2 to 4 kilograms of asphalt anti stripping agent per ton of asphalt.
(2) Add to the modified asphalt storage tank: Calculate the required amount of asphalt anti stripping agent based on the weight of the base asphalt in the asphalt storage tank. Add the asphalt anti stripping agent directly to the hot melt (130-170 ℃) asphalt at the optimal dosage (0.2% -0.3% of the asphalt dosage, i.e. 2-3 kg per ton of asphalt).
(3) Add the asphalt anti stripping agent directly into the asphalt de stripping pool, and circulate with the de stripping asphalt to mix the asphalt anti stripping agent evenly with the asphalt.
Through these methods, asphalt anti stripping agents can significantly improve the adhesion between asphalt and acidic aggregates, prevent water damage and thermal aging, thereby extending the service life of the road surface.
4. Scope of application of asphalt anti stripping agent
Improve the adhesion between acidic aggregates and asphalt from grade (1-2) to grade (4-5), and enhance the strength, water stability, and temperature stability of asphalt mixtures. This product is an additive used in the construction of asphalt pavement with intermediate acidic coarse and fine aggregates.
