1. Raw material preparation
(1) Asphalt: As the main component of emulsified asphalt, the quality of asphalt directly affects the performance of the final product. Usually, heavy traffic road petroleum asphalt that meets the standards is selected, and its penetration, softening point, elongation and other indicators need to meet specific requirements. Heat the asphalt to a suitable temperature (usually 120-160 ℃) to soften it and reduce its viscosity.
(2) Chemicals: The selection of emulsifiers should consider factors such as their emulsifying ability, compatibility with asphalt, and environmental friendliness. Weigh according to the dosage of emulsified asphalt, for example, adding 6-8 kilograms of emulsifier per ton of emulsified asphalt.
(3) Stabilizer: it is used to enhance the stability of lotion and prevent asphalt particles from coalescence or stratification during storage and use. Common stabilizers include inorganic salts, polymer compounds, etc.
(4) Water: as the dispersion medium of lotion, clean and impurity free tap water or industrial water conforming to standards shall be selected. Heat the water to 60-70 ℃.
2. Preparation of emulsifier aqueous solution
Add emulsifier to water and stir evenly to form an emulsifier aqueous solution (soap solution). The preparation process of emulsifier aqueous solution may vary depending on the emulsified asphalt equipment and emulsifier type. For fully automatic continuous emulsified asphalt production equipment, the various components of soap solution (water, acid, emulsifier, etc.) are automatically completed by the program set by the production equipment itself; For semi continuous or intermittent production equipment, soap solution needs to be manually prepared according to the formula requirements. Some emulsifiers that are solid at room temperature also need to be heated and melted before preparing the soap solution. The temperature of soap solution before entering the emulsification equipment is generally controlled between 55-75 ℃.
3. Emulsification
Preheated asphalt is sent through a pipeline into an emulsifier, where it undergoes mechanical interactions such as high-speed shear, impact, and turbulence with the emulsion. In this process, asphalt is cut into tiny droplets and evenly dispersed in the emulsion to form a stable lotion. Emulsifier molecules form a monolayer on the oil-water interface to reduce the interfacial tension between asphalt and water, prevent asphalt particles from repelling each other, and thus maintain the uniformity and stability of lotion.
4. Regulation and homogenization
The emulsified lotion needs to be adjusted and homogenized to ensure uniform particle distribution and stable performance. The adjustment process mainly includes adjusting the pH value, temperature, viscosity and other parameters of lotion; Homogenization treatment further refines asphalt particles by means of stirring or ultrasonic wave to improve the stability of lotion.
5. Storage and testing
The produced emulsified asphalt needs to be stored in dedicated storage tanks and undergo regular testing to ensure its stable quality. Pay attention to prevent lotion from layering, coalescence or deterioration during storage. Large storage tanks should be equipped with mixing devices and regularly stirred.
6. Packaging and Transportation
According to customer requirements, fill, pack or barrel emulsified asphalt, and arrange transportation to the construction site properly.
