Recently, the reconstruction project of the 353 National Highway from Luoxi in Wuning County, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province to Huangsha in Xiushui County is being intensively prepared. The successful construction of this project will provide great convenience for the development of health tourism and characteristic agriculture in the areas along the route. To maintain the excellent condition of highways, Jiangxi Province plans to implement preventive maintenance for 1000 kilometers of expressways this year, ensuring that the pavement performance index remains at a high level of 94 or above. At the same time, Jiangxi will continue to promote the renovation of dangerous old bridges on ordinary national and provincial roads, improve the refinement level of safety facilities, and plan to implement 1000 kilometers of road maintenance projects.
By the end of 2023, the total length of highways in Jiangxi Province has reached an astonishing 209600 kilometers. Currently, over 80% of counties (cities, districts) have achieved the passage of dual highways. The proportion of ordinary national highways at or above the second level is as high as 93.3%, covering over 86% of towns and villages in the province. Jiangxi has always adhered to the concept of full life cycle maintenance, ensuring that highways achieve full coverage of normalized preventive maintenance, and ordinary national and provincial road surface preventive maintenance reaches more than 50%, providing a solid guarantee for long-term maintenance of excellent road conditions. At the same time, Jiangxi has also deeply implemented the concept of green maintenance, piloting the establishment of 8 comprehensive recycling bases for waste road materials in Yichun City, actively promoting the consumption and utilization of industrial solid waste such as lithium slag, and widely promoting four new technologies such as cold and hot recycling and old guardrail renovation.
Looking ahead to the future, the Department of Transportation of Jiangxi Province will focus on improving road conditions and standardizing management, adhere to the principles of scientific maintenance, green maintenance, and intelligent maintenance, and strive to build a modern mainline highway maintenance management system, contributing to the transportation industry of the province.
